We put up the tree this weekend and of course T was very curious. It's all gone well so far, as an ornament comes off, it's put back on higher, so eventually there will be no ornaments on the lower half of the tree. In this picture with the "oh so inncocent" cute look, notice the three ornaments on the floor already!

16 months!
Here we are 16 months already and things just keep getting more fun. He is a pro at walking and it's fun to watch him really figure out his toys and imitate what he sees mommy and daddy do. He spends a lot of time with me in the kitchen, so he's starting to become quite a little chef himself (see video)! He's starting to talk, I think he's on the verge of spitting out a whole vocabulary. Mostly now R and I are learning his language, and his first words are of course his favorite things. We have bah (ball), bebe (blankie), momo (elmo), nana (banana), peeee (peas, he eats them by the handful), cheeeee (cheese), more, bye bye, hi, yes (with a head nod). Within a few weeks I won't be able to keep track of his words anymore. He's into EVERYTHING. It's an uphill battle to pick up anything. It's a good thing he's still so darn cute.
Cancun...for work....really!
I left my boys for a week and went to Cancun for a conference. Not only did I get to meet a good friend of mine there, but I also was asked to give a talk on my super cool research, so it was a great professional opportunity for me as well. R & T fared well without me. R grew a goatee and the house definitely did not clean its self while I was gone. T welcomed me home by throwing up in the car at the airport just moments before I was picked up, so I crashed back into motherhood immediately. It was great to be home again, but I wish I could take breaks on the beach during my day!

The blue michelin man that says "uh oh"
Since it's been snowing here the past two days, we've had to get all bundled up to go anywhere. About a block after we leave the house (or where ever) I hear a bang from the back seat and realize one of his boots have come off. Then I notice him shaking his other foot while staring at it intently. Before long, I hear the clunk of the other boot followed by a quiet and nonchalant "uh oh." "Uh huh," I think to myself as I'm trying to concentrate on the road and not keep looking to the back seat. Then I'll hear a struggle comprised of grunting, groaning and whining. When I get a chance I look back and realize now the socks are coming off. When he gets them both off he throws them to the side, takes a deep breath, relaxes and then says "uh oh," and he looks at me as if saying "shoot Mom, my socks came off again!" By the time we get where we are going I have to put on his socks and boots and hat again. I would be mad, but the whole thing is so darn cute. Here's how much snow we got with this last storm:
